Thank you for your interest in receiving donations from SYSCO Bahamas. We are committed to
supporting organizations and initiatives dedicated to providing relief to those in need and promoting
community well-being. To apply for a donation, please follow these steps:
Designated Qualifiers
Do You Qualify?
- Demonstrated Need: Requests must include a letter/scheduled calendar of events detailing genuine need within the community or organization, relative to charitable cause, food relief, or community development. This letter must include information about what type of donation is being requested, the cause behind the donation request, date and time for the request to be fulfilled, and a point person of contact for the request.
- Status: Eligible recipients are required to be registered as a Non-Profit Organization or have a valid Business License; this includes but is not limited to Community Centers, Shelters, Food Banks, Schools, and other charitable entities dedicated to serving those in need.
- Mission Alignment: Requests should demonstrate alignment with the mission and values of Sysco Bahamas, particularly in supporting food relief, educational development, and community empowerment.
- Measure: Recipients are required to manage the measurement of donation, including compliance with relevant legal regulations for donation, accurate record-keeping, and reporting as necessary.
- Commitment to Equitable Distribution: Recipients must adhere to principles of equity in the distribution of donations, ensuring that distribution occurs without discrimination of any personal attributes including (but not limited to) race, ethnicity, religion, political stance, gender, or sexuality.
- Partnership and Collaboration: Recipients are encouraged to collaborate with other local organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to maximize impact and coordinate efforts to address systemic issues contributing to the need for donation.
How to Apply for a Donation:
- Review Qualification Criteria: Before applying, please review our qualification criteria to ensure that your organization meets the necessary requirements for receiving donations.
- Prepare Your Application: Gather all required information and documentation needed to complete the donation request. This may include details about your organization’s mission
and programs, service area coverage, and capacity to distribute donated food products effectively.
- Submit Your Application: Complete an application here. Be sure to provide accurate and detailed information about your organization and the specific needs of the community you serve. Submit your application by the specified deadline to be considered for donation in the following month(s).
- Review Process: Our team will carefully review each donation request received. Applications will be evaluated based on the qualification criteria outlined above, including mission alignment, service area coverage, and capacity to distribute donations effectively.
- Notification of Decision: If Approved, you will be notified of the decision regarding your donation request. If your organization is selected to receive donations, you will receive information regarding the quantity and type of donation you will be receiving, as well as details regarding distribution logistics.
- Distribution and Follow-Up: Once distribution is complete, we may reach out to your organization to gather feedback, assess the impact of the donations, and identify potential areas for improvement in future donation cycles.
